The Silobag

 

Is a polyethylene tube that is 60m long and 2.75m in diameter that is filled with grain and lies on the ground. 

A silobag can hold many varieties of grain including wheat, barley, rapeseed, sunseed, maize, soyabean,  peas,  oats,  and others.

A silobag is a laminate of 3 layers of polyeythene. The white outside layers reflect heat and act as an ultra-violet (UV) filter. The inside 3^rd layer is black to ensure the grain is stored in the dark.  The plastic also contains anti-oxidant to minimise wear so that the bag can last up to 2 years once filled with grain.

The bag has a certain elasticity (optimal  10%) that helps to expel the maximum air during the bagging process .

The empty bag weighs  100 kgs and is neatly folded into a box that measures  x x x .  The bag is easily infolded and placed on the bagging machines by 2 people
